Yes, you are really seeing snow :).
Yesterday we had a cold front move through and we ended up with about 4" all said and done.
Luckily I didn't have to go out in it. I would hate to see what crutches do on snow and ice.
But, like most everything in the desert it didn't last long. It did help us realize that it is December and that it is the Christmas season.
We are off to get our tree and decorations this weekend and should start getting more into the spirit once those are up.

Surgery

November 18th I had surgery on my foot to correct the bunions that had formed thanks to my Army Boots.

They ended up having to do a little more than what they expected. I now have a plate and 6 screws in my right foot.

It made things a little interesting for Thanksgiving but luckily Eric and his friends decided it would be better for me to hold our group dinner at our house so that I don't have to move around as much.

At this point I am going to be on crutches for about 5 weeks. I am not suppose to put much weight on my right foot. Pretty much the only thing I am allowed to do is put down my heel to help me balance.

After I am out of crutches they are going to put me in a walking boot. The discharge papers said no strenuous activity for 90 days. I think I am going to go crazy.

Texas!

Well, we made it. Eric came up to DC for my graduation and then we started our journey to El Paso, TX. It had some bumps and bruises but we made it. :)
It is definitely a change of climate. There isn't much green down here. Not like either one of the Washington's. I am enjoying the heat though. Its kind of scary when you consider 80 cool :)

I am still trying to find a job. Most places are interviewing but no one is really hiring right now. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the right job will show up at the right time. This economy and the fact that I don't speak spanish seems to be holding me back a little. Luckily I have access to Rosetta Stone through the Army so that is my next step. At least be able to communicate some will be better than not at all.

The kids have started school and Joseph has already had two football games. Thanks to my mom and dad i get pics often of the kids. They are getting so big. Hard to believe that Joseph is a Junior this year. Hoping to get some pics of the kids up soon.

Well, i think that is all i have for right now. I will try to keep this upated a little more often now.

Almost Graduation!

Well, the day is almost here. 29July is just around the corner. Can't believe that this part of the journey is almost over. I remember the day that I held up my hand and joined the army. Can't believe that it was almost 2 years ago.
It has been an emotional road and quite the adventure. I wouldn't change any part of it though. I have met some great people along with meeting the most wonderful man in the world that I can now call my husband. :)
I can't wait til the next adventure. The trip to El Paso and trying to find work down there. Should be interesting.

Well there really isn't much new to report. I have finished the required part of the course according to the Texas state board of nursing. I am just waiting for the letter that allows me to take my NCLEX. The Army requires that their LPN's have extra courses and time in the CCU and ICU due to the fact that when we are deployed we will see alot of trauma and burn cases.
Graduation will be 29July and after that I will be moving to El Paso, Texas. Eric is currently stationed at Fort Bliss and we have housing down there. He has been slowly getting things set up so that I don't have to worry about any of that when I get down there.
Lets see, Joseph turned 16 on the 14th of June. Yikes, where did the time go. My little man is no longer so little. He is a great kid and I am very proud of him. Cheyenne is doing well being a big sister to her siblings from her dads marriage. She is a great mother hen.
