Been awhile.........

Wow, its been awhile since I have been on here. Well we have had the baby. Tristan Eric Simon was born 16May2011. At birth he was 9lb15oz and 21" long. At 4 months he is 16lb 12oz and 25.5" long. He has 2 bottom teeth and is a very happy baby.

Eric recently left for deployment. He will be gone for anywhere from 9 - 12 months. This will be his second deployment in his 6 years in the Army. We miss him terribly but luckily get to chat via yahoo messenger. Skype hasn't been working that well as the wifi isn't that great.

I am a stay at home mom now. Found that the benefits of being home outweighed the benefits of being at work. Tristan loves having me here compared to being at daycare all day and I am thankful for everyday that I have with him. He is making this deployment much more bearable.

Having a baby........

As many of the family knows we will be having a baby in May. The due date right now is 19 May 2011. It took us a little while to get here but we are excited for this little one to get here. I am currently 3 months pregnant.

2011 is going to be an interesting and emotional year for this momma. I will be adding a new addition in ay and then in June will be watching my oldest Graduate high school. Where in the world has the time gone. Later in the year, sometime after August Eric wll be deploying to Afghanistan. No date for sure yet but have been given the time frame.

Other than this news nothing new has been happening. We have both been working and enjoying the weather here in Texas.

HOpe everyone is doing well....hoping to keep this more updated as we get updates.

Still Waiting...........

This economy is driving me crazy. So the job that i mentioned last time unfortunately did not pan out. So i am still waiting. I do have an app in at another facility. They are verifying all my references so we will be waiting to see what happens with this one :)
As far as everything else it is military as normal...never quite sure what is going to happen next LOL. Eric has been pulling alot of medical coverage out in the field meaning that he is gone overnight and such. On 01Feb he was promoted to SPC and now looking for that SGT rank :)
This weekend we added a new member to our family. Her name is "Cookie" she is 2 1/2 years old and she is a shepard mix. Looks like she might have some husky in her :) She is very energetic. Aburn still isn't to sure what to make of her LOL. I forgot how interesting it could be to have more than 1 dog LOL. she is a lot smaller than he is and runs circles around him :)
We will post pictures soon :)

Christmas at grandmas 2009

2010

It has been an interesting year!!! We made it through the holidays....phew!
Looks like this new year might be turning around.
Had a doctors appointment on the 28th of Dec and got the okay to start wearing the walking boot. Woohoo. No longer using crutches :). Also got the okay to be up on it and doing everything that I was doing before. Just have to be careful to not over do it. :)

I have a job interview today with a nursing home that i dropped off a resume to back in October :). I also got a call to work a few hours at a healthcare fair. :) I was hoping and praying that things would start turning around because trying to make it on one income was just not what i was looking forward to this year!!

I will keep updating as things change here in my neck of the woods :)

Lynden Lions State Champs

Josephs football team won the state championship for the 2nd year in a row. He is extremely happy!!
Now it is on to wrestling. Gotta make up time :)

We are all proud of Joseph and his team mates for this great accomplishment!! They only had one loss this year and it was their first game. They ended up having to play that team again in the district playoffs and beat them :)

Go LIONS!!!!

Foot Update

Had an appointment this morning and well I am still on crutches. Will probably be on them until almost the first of the year. :(
He clipped the ends of the stiches and wrapped it up in gauze again. Luckily I don't have to go back again until the 28th so that will be helpful. At that appointment I will have x-rays done to make sure that everything is healing properly. After the xrays I will most likely be in a walking boot.
